The first cars are in. That’s right, the keen beans of the motorsport community have descended on the Goodwood Motor Circuit for the 79th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport. It’s only Thursday, but we’re already tripping over some truly stunning racers.
First up, we can’t ignore the Ferrari F310B F1 car, Michael Schumacher’s machine for the 1997 season and the car in which he took five wins and, at the end of the season, slammed into the side of Jacques Villeneuve in a desperate attempt to win the title. The move saw Schumacher disqualified from the championship standings.
Wandering around the paddocks we’ve found a superb Borgward Isabella, a Jaguar D-Type and a muscular Corvette Stingray. Then, on our stroll, some rather fetching Porsches arrived… To see one 962 or 956 is special. To see more than half a dozen rolling off transporters is ridiculous. And to think it’s only Thursday…
