Gallery: F5000s battle a blizzard

17th March 2018
Adam Wilkins

Here's something you don't see every day... F5000 cars in conditions that left some wondering whether snow chains might preferable to slicks.

Everyone had been keeping a keen eye on the weather forecast in the lead-up to the 76th Members' Meeting, and we all knew it would probably snow at some point. Nobody predicted that it would be just when the fast, powerful, uncompromising F5000 cars took to the track. It was an exercise in delicate control for the drivers and facing off the blizzard for spectators. Those who did were treated to an utterly unique spectacle. You probably won't see a gallery quite like this one again.
