Gallery: 77MM – Big, brash NASCARs make some noise

If you didn’t manage to see the American muscle take to the Goodwood Motor Circuit, then you would have heard them. Rolling into the assembly area leaving a trail of exhaust smoke and oil in their wake, these huge monsters of motorsport are a sight to behold, and quite the contradiction to the quaint countryside surroundings.

With the likes of Chevrolet Camaros, Chevrolet Impalas and Ford Mustangs along to stamp their authority on the weekend, it was hard not to be impressed by the sheer brute force these track weapons can put down when persuaded.

Squealing tires, plumes of rubber smoke and the collective angry growl of 90-degree pushrod V8 engines all singing in unison. There’s an awful lot to love about these Americans and their bonkers race cars. We’ll have them again we think.
