The first two races for the 79th Goodwood Members’ Meeting in 2022 have been announced, with cars from the 1960s through to 1980 set to battle on track.

Returning to its traditional spring date, the Members’ Meeting will take place on the 9th and 10th April 2022 and will be filled with cars all the way from pre-war motoring to the turn of the millennium.

At the top of the bill will be a pair of old Members’ Meeting favourites: the Gerry Marshall Trophy – arguably the showcase race of the weekend – and the Graham Hill Trophy. As always, the only way to see these amazing races live and in person will be to join the GRRC Community.

At the 78th Members’ Meeting in October the Gerry Marshall Trophy race was split into a series of heats and a final that saw nearly 60 big and small-engined touring cars battle for Goodwood supremacy. In 2022 the battle for group 1 Touring cars of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s will feature both its previous two-driver, 45-minute format and a sprint race.

The cars will first battle on Saturday as car owners share driving duties with some of the world’s best racing drivers as the sun sets, the second a brilliant fifteen-minute reversed-grid battle for just the owners on Sunday. The 2021 Gerry Marshall Trophy provided some of the closest racing ever and the winner of the 2020 event – held at Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard – wasn’t decided until the final lap, so hopes are high for another classic in 2022.

Following the success of the two-driver format for the Gerry Marshall Trophy previously and the Gurney Cup in 2021, and to bring a little of the Goodwood Revival’s RAC TT Celebration sparkle to April, the Graham Hill Trophy will also be held over 45-minutes. The driver pairings will race in GT and prototype racers from 1960-’64.

The race also celebrates the 60th anniversary of Hill’s first F1 World Championship victory for BRM in 1962, as well as his back-to-back victories in the RAC TT at Goodwood in 1963 and 1964 with Maranello Concessionaires. The 2022 running of the Graham Hill Trophy will be the first time the race has been held since the 77th Members’ Meeting in 2019.

These first two races will be joined by an awesome line-up of others, set to be announced later in 2021, as well as a pair of brilliant high-speed demos celebrating some of motorsport’s most beloved eras.

Tickets for the 79th Members’ Meeting are on sale to those that are part of the Fellowship now, and if not already, you can join the Fellowship for just £43, offering a range of benefits alongside the opportunity to buy tickets to all three Goodwood motorsport events.
