It’s that time of the year again when we all start to get very excited about the upcoming Goodwood motorsport season. In 2025, as is tradition, the historic racing action will open with the 82nd Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, and we can now reveal the timetable for what will be one of the most exceptional weekends in the event’s history, all once again taking place using sustainable fuels.
There will of course be the usual packed schedule of historic racing action, but that be interspersed with several enthralling moments that will celebrate some true titans of motorsport. Most recently announced is the on-track demonstration that will commemorate the 40th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s first Formula 1 victory.
The great Brazilian’s nephew, Bruno Senna, will climb into the cockpit of the Lotus 97T that took the chequered flag in torrential rain at Estoril, and embark on what is bound to be a hugely emotional demonstration. He’ll be in action first on Saturday at 15:20 GMT, and then once more on Sunday at 17:20.
Also of note away from the main body of track action will be the presence of some very contemporary GT3 machinery. A 20-strong field of cars that raced between 2006 and 2012 will be in action over both days of the Members’ Meeting. They’ll be out on the Motor Circuit on both Saturday and Sunday mornings at 11:50, but that’s not all.
This year, in the wake of the huge success of the Sidecar Shoot-Out at the 81st Members’ Meeting, a special selection of eight GT3 cars will be preparing to compete in the first ever GT3 Shoot-Out. Qualifying for this competitive event will commence at 17:25 on Saturday before the Shoot-Out Final kicks off on Sunday at 17:40.
And that’s not all. We have plenty more to announce in the weeks building up to the 82nd Members’ Meeting, so keep an eye on our Goodwood Road & Racing channels for all the latest updates.
Alongside those more bespoke moments of the weekend, we will of course have an equally exciting programme of racing that makes up the bulk on the on-track action. Opening proceedings on the Goodwood Motor Circuit will be Official Practice for the motorcycles of the Hailwood Trophy (ft. Sheene Trophy) at 09:30 on Saturday morning, followed by the Edwardian beasts of the S.F. Edge Trophy at 09:55.
We’ll see the big-engined Group 1 touring cars of the Gordon Spice Trophy for the first time as they begin their Practice session at 10:40, followed by the equally dramatic prototypes of the Gurney Cup at 11:10 and the field of Formula Junior cars that make up the Arundell Cup at 12:20.
Into Saturday afternoon, the Practice action continues with the Whitmore Cup and its pre-1966 tin tops, before the touring car action continues with the first outing for the all-new Win Percy Trophy, which brings together the smaller-capacity Group 1 racers. That’s followed by another jump back in time as British pre-war sportscars from Bentley, Aston Martin and Frazer Nash roll out for Official Practice in the Earl Howe Trophy at 14:10.
The svelte ‘60s GTs of the Moss Trophy complete the Practice schedule at 14:55 before the flag drops for Part 1 of the Hailwood Trophy, the first race of the weekend, at 15:50. From then on, the 82nd Members’ Meeting becomes a relentless rush of racing action, with Part 1 of the Gordon Spice Trophy starting at 16:50 before the S.F. Edge Trophy at 18:10 and the Gurney Cup rounding off Saturday evening at 18:45.
Sunday will begin with Official Practice for Part 2 of the Gordon Spice Trophy at 09:00, and the final Practice session of the weekend, for the Salvadori Cup, at 09:25. Racing action begins at 10:00 with the Arundell Cup, and the final part of the Hailwood Trophy at 10:40.
Part 2 of the S.F. Edge Trophy gets underway at 12:35, followed by the Whitmore Cup at 13:10. Then, as we move into Sunday afternoon, the flag drops for the inaugural Win Percy Trophy at 14:10 before the Earl Howe Trophy at 15:15, and it only ramps up from there.
The Moss Trophy will see the most beautiful grid of the weekend charge towards Madgwick at 16:10 before Part 2 of the Gordon Spice Trophy begins at 16:50. Then, with the light fading on Sunday evening, the 82nd Members’ Meeting will come to a close with the final race of the weekend, the Salvadori Cup, getting starting orders at 18:30.
The 82nd Members’ Meeting will take place on 12th and 13th April 2025 and tickets are now available for Members and Fellows of the GRRC.
If you’re not already a Member or Fellow and you’d like to enjoy all the racing, demos, and other exciting content at the Members’ Meeting, you’ll need to join the GRRC. Click here for more information or to join the club.
