The Goodwood motorsport season gets underway with the 82nd Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport on 12th-13th April, and we are excited to now reveal the full programme of races that will take place throughout the weekend – including the new-for-2025 Win Percy Trophy.
And, following on from its success at this year’s Goodwood Revival, 2025 also marks the first time where all races at Members’ Meeting will be run exclusively on sustainable fuels.
For Formula 750 and 250cc & 350cc Two-Stroke Grand Prix motorcycles
The Hailwood Trophy takes place in two parts throughout the weekend, the overall winner decided on an aggregate of both results. Formula 750 motorcycles will be competing alongside 250cc and 350cc two-stroke Grand Prix motorcycles, so you can expect to see the likes of Yamaha TZ350Gs, Honda CB750s and Ducati 750Ss on the Le Mans-style starting grid.
For Edwardian cars, GN Specials and cars in the spirit of early Brooklands races prior to 1923
An ever-popular fixture of the Members’ Meeting is the S.F. Edge Trophy. Mighty Edwardian racers will compete in two five-lap sprints, giving spectators two opportunities to witness these spectacular machines in hard-fought battle. Cars like the Fiat S76, best known as the Beast of Turin, Darraq 200hp and Sunbeam Indianapolis are among those returning for this crowd-pleasing fixture.
For sports-racing prototypes of a type that raced between 1963 and 1966
If you like your racing cars to have thundering V8s, the Gurney Cup is for you. This is the race that gathers sports prototypes from the early 1960s, so you can expect to see Ford GT40s and Chevron B6s at the sharp end of the grid. It’s not all big-capacity clout, though; lighter, lither racers like the Lotus 23B will be dicing for victory, too.
For Homologated Saloon Cars over 2.8-litre of a type that raced in FIA Appendix J Group 1 between 1970 and 1982 or the British Saloon Car Championship between 1976 and 1982
The first of three touring cars races is the Gordon Spice Trophy. Cars that once dominated the roads of the 1970s and early ’80s, such as the Ford Capri Mk3, Rover SD1 and Chevrolet Camaro Z28, are stripped and liveried up for wheel-to-wheel action. A host of top flight drivers also ensure the competition is always fair but fierce, too.
For rear-engined Formula Juniors of a type that raced up until 1964. First drum-braked car across the line wins the Taylor Trophy.
Back for the first time since the 78th Members’ Meeting in 2021 is the Arundell Cup, for rear-engined Formula Junior cars. These diminutive single-seaters, such as the Lola Mk3, Brabham BT6 and Lotus 20/22, reward precise driving and often provide some of the closest racing.
For British-built pre-war sportscars
For the 82nd Members’ Meeting, the Earl Howe Trophy will be open only to British cars built before World War II. Defunct names like Frazer Nash will feature alongside those marques that live on as car manufacturers today, such as Aston Martin and Bentley, for another taste of motorsport from the pre-Goodwood era.
For closed-cockpit GT cars of a type that raced before 1963
Some of the most beautiful cars from the Members’ Meeting weekend will emerge from the paddocks for the Moss Trophy. This race is for closed cockpit GT cars that raced prior to 1963, which means a field that includes the likes of the Jaguar E-type, Ferrari 250 SWB and Aston Martin DB4GT. Evoking Goodwood’s in-period heyday, the Moss Trophy is one of the many must-see fixtures of the weekend.
For Group 1 touring cars under 2.8-litre that raced between 1970 and 1982
Our second saloon car competition of the weekend is a new entry on the racecard – the Win Percy Trophy. Specifically for cars below 2.8-litres in cubic capacity from 1970 to 1982, this event will see cars like the Mini 1275GT, Ford Fiesta and Triumph Dolomite Sprint battling for outright victory rather than being outpaced by the larger machinery they used to fight in the Gordon Spice Trophy. We can’t wait to see what transpires.
For World Championship sports cars and production sports-racing cars of a type raced between 1955-1960
Front-engined sportscars dominate the field in the Salvadori Cup. The racers from the second half of the 1950s combine style with speed, the field being made up of cars such as the Lister-Jaguar ‘Knobbly’, Lotus 15 and Lola Mk1. They might not set the fastest lap times of the weekend, but when the cars look this great and the racing is close, it’s still one of the very best spectacles of the event.
For pre-66 Touring Cars under 2-litre
The third of our trio of saloon car races at 82MM is the Whitmore Cup, which takes things further back in the time with pre-1966 touring cars with engines under 2 litres. You’ll see cars like the Mini Cooper S, Lotus Cortina and Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA looking for the fastest way around the circuit – all while being door to door for some of Goodwood’s closest racing.
Between the race programme, the 82nd Members’ Meeting will also feature a series of demos throughout the weekend, and we’ll have more details of those in the coming weeks.
