Video: 2020 St Mary's Trophy full race
The St Mary’s Trophy was an essential inclusion at SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard for its David vs Goliath battles of big American V8 brutes battling high-revving nimble euro saloons. Part 1 delivered just that, with Andrew Jordan in a Lotus Cortina chasing down Nick Minassian, Sam Tordoff and Stig Blomqvist in a Studebaker and two Galaxies.
Jordan keeps a convincing chase up pretty well throughout the race but the heat of battle rises between leader Tordoff and pursuing Stig. With just a few laps to go, the race starts to take its toll on the leading machinery, leaving a victory on the table for AJ in the Cortina and Minassian in the Studebaker. Can either close the deal?
