Video: Superbike legend Troy Corser's heartbreaking fall

11th September 2016

It's absolutely heartbreaking, isn't it? When you give it everything you've got in a bid for glory, and it comes crashing down.

Yesterday's Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy was a spectacular slice of pre-1954 motorcycle racing. These machines were pushed to their limits. There's no better evidence for this than that which is depicted in the video above. Double World Superbike champion Troy Corser is making a bid to wresle the lead from the number 1 bike through the chicane and on to the start finish straight, but it all goes wrong when he runs wide into some treacherous standing water.
