We’re forever on the lookout for stunning, oversteer-filled onboards, not just from Goodwood but from hillclimbs and tracks all over the world. Today we were searching for an onboard video with a twist, one that almost certainly would not include opposite lock or even any wheelspin at all. Today, we’ve found an onboard from the Settrington Cup.
The Settrington Cup as you may well know is the Austin J40 pedal car race at the Goodwood Revival, where more than thirty youngsters, aged between six and ten years old, pedal their little legs off for their first race victory. The first Settrington Cup was in 2012, and this two-minute clip is from that race, which in future editions has become one of the most viewed races in Goodwood history.
The driver Archie finished in fifth position, even after contact at the chicane and further contact from another competitor just moments before the finish line. You can’t say they don’t want the win.
