And just like that, the Goodwood Revival is over for another year. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed three action-packed days of historic racing amid an infectious atmosphere as the drivers and fans alike embraced the essence of Revive & Thrive, and Sunday’s crescendo was worth the wait as it always is.
The competitive track action began under yet more blue skies with the Chichester Cup and its field of buzzing Formula Junior machines, followed by the 2.5-litre F1 racers in the Richmond & Gordon Trophy and the second part of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy.
Then, as is customary on Revival Sunday, all eyes turned to the start line for the headline event of the weekend, the RAC TT Celebration, with its field of Cobras, E-types and more. This blue riband race delivered an hour of visceral noise and relentless action well-worth taking the time to watch.
Just as we thought the day might begin to wind down, the Lavant Cup produced one of the more dramatic and emotional moments of the entire weekend. We also had the ever-beautiful Sussex Trophy to enjoy, before the day’s proceedings were brought to a close by the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul with a typically entertaining touring car battle royal.
