Video: 2022 Sussex Trophy highlights | Goodwood Revival
The Sussex Trophy was a quintessential 25-minute historic sportscar thrash and our penultimate racing fixture for the weekend, featuring Lister Knobblys, a Maserati Birdcage, a brace of Jaguar D-Types, a Cooper Monaco and a sevensome of Lotus 15s.
An appropriate near-closer given we opened with our tribute to the Nine Hours on Friday Evening, the race recalls ’50s sportscar championship rounds and produces some of the best battles you could hope to see around our Motor Circuit. Sam Hancock, Roger Wills and Miles Griffiths lead the pack from the off, though Hancock’s 246S Dino bowed out early at the two-thirds mark. It was James Cottingham’s ‘Lucky Leap’ Tojeiro Jaguar that scythed through to take the win, with David Hart’s Lister in tow and a trio of Lotuses.
