We’ll be treating you to a full list of riders and drivers next week, but these names should prove plenty to whet your appetite. So who’s coming?

Celebrity appearances will include the aforementioned comedy extraordinaire Rowan Atkinson, former England rugby international David Cooke, and businessman and former BBC Dragon’s Den presenter Theo Paphitis.

As for motorsport heroes, it’s hard to know where to start. Dario Franchitti will make his return to competition six years after an IndyCar crash ended his career, racing a Ferrari 250 GT SWB in the Friday’s Kinrara Trophy presented by Hackett and an AC Cobra in the RAC TT Celebration on Sunday. We’ll also have former Toro Rosso Formula 1 driver and 2017 Le Mans winner Brendon Hartley, former F1 racer and current Sky Sports F1 presenter Karun Chandhok, renowned F1 designer Adrian Newey, current Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, and Le Mans legends Derek Bell and Tom Kristensen.

Returning again after setting a new fastest ever time up the Goodwood Hill at the 2019 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, Romain Dumas will be behind the wheel of an AC Cobra in the RAC TT Celebration and a Ford Thunderbird in the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul. Both cars, his rivals will be delighted to hear, should be slower than the Volkswagen ID.R…

From the two-wheeled world, MotoGP hero Dani Pedrosa is leaving retirement behind to compete on a 500cc Paton in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy. Alongside him we’ll have 23-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness, 19-time TT winner Michael Dunlop and seven-time TT winner Mick Grant, as well as World Superbike rider Eugene Laverty, former grand Prix rider Jeremy McWilliams and the fastest woman ever around the Isle of Man TT course Jenny Tinmouth.
