The all-star motorcycle encounter delivered a second epic display for a capacity crowd at Goodwood, with racing legend Steve Parrish making the early running on a Manx Norton before first the similar machine of Sam Clews found a way past. The flying MV Agusta of Jon Boy Lee then powered past the pair of them to build an unassailable lead.

While the Italian machine dominated it was left to Spanish MotoGP hero Dani Pedrosa to light the fireworks in the second half of the race. Taking over the machine from his co-rider Joaquin Folch-Rusinol Jr, the packed house delighted to see the 31-time Grand Prix winner scythe his way up from 16th place to sixth in just a handful of laps.
