Gallery: Settrington Cup at Revival 2022

17th September 2022
Adam Wilkins

For a decade now, the offspring of the Goodwood Revival racing community have been stealing the show with their pedal-powered Austin J40s. With races getting under way with a Le Mans-style start, children race to their charges before peddling their hearts out to the chequered flag.

The final result is aggregated from two legs, with race one happening on Saturday before the decider takes place on Sunday. What may have started as a cute little lunchtime break has morphed into the weekend’s most visceral and hotly-contested event.

With parents, grandparents and fans screaming from grandstands and pitwalls, the racing is wheel-to-wheel right until the finish. And with 70 little ones vying for a podium place, there’s plenty of room for jeopardy.  Our photographers were trackside to capture the grit, determination, joy, and sometimes heartbreak of Goodwood’s next generation of motoring enthusiasts.
