2024 RAC TT Celebration preview | Goodwood Revival
The RAC TT Celebration is arguably the crown jewel of the Goodwood Revival’s race line-up. Not a year has gone by in the event’s 26 years that it’s not featured – it’s the moment all attendees, viewers from afar and drivers look forward to.
A race for closed-cockpit sports GTs from 1960-1964, sees the fastest, most iconic grand touring cars of Goodwood’s golden era battling it out in a one-hour two-driver thrash on the Sunday of Goodwood Revival, exclusively powered by sustainable fuel.
Which cars are in the RAC TT Celebration?
Staple models of the RAC TT include the Jaguar E-Type Lightweight, AC Cobra, Bizzarrini 5300GT, TVR Griffith and Corvette Stingray. The only two Sunbeam Lister Tiger Le Mans Coupes feature regularly too, as does the Lister-Jaguar Coupe and a Tojeiro Buick GT. A beautiful oddity courtesy of our dear friend Duncan Pittaway is of course the Cheetah, which looks like something out of Wacky Races.
Which drivers are in the RAC TT Celebration?
Everyone who’s anyone at the Goodwood Revival wants a drive in the TT, and as you’d expect the lineup is always star-spangled. Le Mans legends meet Formula 1 stars, meet rally and touring car titans and even NASCAR and Indycar stars, for a lineup that blends driver disciplines. Pirro, Minassian, Dumas, Brundle, Kirstensen, Shedden, Ingram, Johnson, Neal, Attwood, Treluyer, Chandhok, Franchitti, Mass – all are names you will be familiar with as a fan of Goodwood; all took part in last year’s TT.
When is the RAC TT Celebration?
Official Practice and Qualifying sessions for the RAC TT Celebration take place on both Friday 6th September and Saturday 7th, before the full race takes place on Sunday 8th as the main fixture of the afternoon. You can find the exact timings for the race in the 2024 Revival timetable.
