2024 Freddie March Memorial Trophy preview | Goodwood Revival
A tribute to the Goodwood Nine Hour races of the 1950s, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy has featured at every Revival since 1998’s inaugural event. This year, it returns as the closing race of the schedule and, like the entire event, will run exclusively on sustainable fuel.
The Freddie March Memorial Trophy has spent some time as the opening race of the Revival as an hour-long, two-driver race. But, for 2024 it reverts to being a 25-minute sprint and with the sun setting on Sunday evening, promises to be a stunning conclusion to the weekend.
Which cars are racing in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy?
As a tribute to the Goodwood Nine Hour races held in 1952, ’53 and ’55, you can expect to see Aston Martin DB3Ss take to the circuit; all three of these races were won by an Aston – the DB3 in 1952 and the DB3S in both 1953 and ’55.
Last year it was the pairing of Wilson and Bradley who emerged victorious in a Maserati 250S, and you can anticipate to see the likes of the Jaguar C-type and Allard J2X, too.
When is the Freddie March Memorial Trophy?
Official Practice for the Freddie March Memorial Trophy takes place on Friday 6th September, before running as the final race of the Revival on Sunday 8th. Exact timings will be confirmed when the 2024 Revival timetable is revealed.
