Rolls-Royce, whose company HQ sits just down the lane from the Goodwood circuit, joins the Revival in traditional style this year. The legendary March Motor Works, just on the right as visitors exit the pedestrian tunnel onto the circuit infield, hosts a wonderful variety of vehicles, not least the Rolls-Royce ice cream van which, naturally, is situated on the Revival beach...
The March Motor Works has chosen the Swinging Sixties this year as its celebrated decade. The Works hosts a glorious period Rolls-Royce showroom, with a stunning 1966 Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupe by Mulliner Park Ward on display. The four-seater appeared in the 1966 film, Blow-UP, which starred David Hemmings, Vanessa Redgrave and Sarah Miles. The car's Revival setting features a promotion for the film, and visitors will find actors portraying the stars being "interviewed" on set for a period fashion magazine.
Rolls-Royce is also present on the circuit itself over the weekend. A 1966 Phantom V Touring Limousine with a body by the coach builder James Young will be part of the Course Director's convoy. Finished in ivory over black, and displaying a rare Hooper rear window, the Sixties limousine will ferry a handful of lucky guests around the circuit, to experience the fabulous "waftability" of the marque, and the silence, pervaded only by the ticking of the Phantom's original mechanical clock.
