There’s always so much to do at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. Aside from all of the action on the Hill and the many sights and sounds that make Goodwood’s motorsport events so special, there are hundreds of other things to get involved in around the estate, and eBay will be offering its own unique blend of entertainment and challenge at the eBay Garage stand.
The eBay Garage brings plenty of colour to the infield attractions at the Festival of Speed. Throughout the four-day event, they will be showcasing their vehicle parts and accessories, where visitors will be able to learn more about what they can offer and ignite their DIY spirit.
There will be a packed timetable of talks going on across the weekend with several well-known personalities from the motoring world taking to the stage to talk about their love of cars and how they go about their own car maintenance.
Ortis Deley will be hosting on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with George Clarke presenting on the opening day. Then, on Friday, Tomi Auto and Grace Roberts (graceautos) will be going head-to-head on a game of‘Seek & Solve’ before Matt Armstrong takes to the stage for a talk. Becky Evans and Jack McNeil will be out and about on Saturday morning before joining Edd China and Ben Shephard on the eBay Stage for a special roundtable panel.
The eBay Garage will also be an immersive experience, with challenges, puzzles and more to complete along the way in order to collect stamps and win prizes. Anyone interested will be able to collect a Garage Pass from the stand itself, or from a separate location at Car Park A. These passes will help guide you around the eBay Garage.
There are four zones to explore, each showcasing a different aspect of the eBay experience, with stamps to be collected at each one. Collecting all four stamps will give you the chance to win exclusive merchandise.
At Zone 1 you’ll enter your reg, much like you would on eBay’s website to find the right part at the right price, before moving on to Zone 2 where you’ll be able to play the eBay Assured Fit game, which highlights eBay’s Assured Fit guarantee: After entering your reg and buying the right part for your vehicle if the eligible part or accessory bought does not fit, you can return it for free within 30 days. You’ll need to work quickly to fit each of the parts onto the car in the correct places as quickly as possible.
Complete the game to advance to Zone 3, where you’ll be met with the Certified Recycled Challenge. You can save up to 70% with certified recycled parts from eBay. Here you can attempt to spot the difference between recycled parts and brand-new parts. eBay’s certified recycled parts are fully restored and quality-assured by experts to meet professional standards, and we think you’ll find it incredibly difficult to tell the difference.
Once you’re done in there, you can head out to Zone 4, which is the Store. Here, you’ll be racing against the clock, or a willing opponent , to sift through parts available on eBay to scan the highlighted parts as quickly as possible.
If you manage to complete all four zones and collect each of the four stamps, you’ll be able to head to the collection point and claim your prize. An elaborate game of lucky dip will see you fishing for a coloured ball. Each colour corresponds to an item of merchandise. Anyone who claims the special golden ball will walk away with a special bundle of items.
As you make your way around the eBay Garage, you’ll also come across their climbing wall, Mat Armstrong’s passion project, the McLaren 720S, and live demo zones—an area dedicated to showcasing all of the OEM brands available on the platform.
The eBay Garage will be a hive of activity over the Festival of Speed, with plenty of opportunities to learn more about what eBay offers and get inspired to start developing your own car maintenance skills.
