That includes now record-breaking seven-time world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton. At the time of his first Hill run, in his 2007 McLaren, he was fairly described as a ‘rookie talent’, without a single one of the seven yet to his name. From there we go to Antonio Giovinazzi in an Alfa-liveried Sauber and then to Carlos Sainz Jr. in a thunderous McLaren Can-Am car. Then we go to Daniel Ricciardo in a screaming Renault, Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari, Lando Norris on that monster orange McLaren again and then Esteban Ocon in a Mercedes.
Then we go back to 2015 and Pierre Gasly in an original V10 Red Bull. Perhaps the maddest of all these runs was Valtteri Bottas who pushes a modern F1 Mercedes to the limit, smashing the rev limiter, spinning, sliding and smoking it. Then we travel all the way back to 2005, a Championship-winning year for Fernando Alonso. He was mid-fight while at the Festival, taking his run in that unmistakable blue and yellow Renault.
