Video: Can a Dakar-winning car conquer EVERYTHING at the Festival of Speed?

This is easily one of the coolest cars on the entry list for the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. It’s the 2022 Dakar winning Toyota Gazoo Racing Hilux T1+, a thoroughbred rally car producing 415PS (305kW) and 650Nm (478lb ft), which will be taking on every element of the event: the Hill, the Forest Rally Stage and the Off-Road Arena. It’s a pretty tough challenge, but as you’re about to see this is a pretty tough car.

The same can be said of the guys inside. It’s being driven by four-time (including 2022) Dakar Rally champion Nasser Al-Attiyah, who is accompanied by three-time Dakar champ Mathieu Baumel.

It skitters across the not unsubstantial humps and bumps of the Off-Road Arena course at remarkable speed without once losing its composure, while the skills of Al-Attiyah are in full view as he weaves this considerable machine through the narrow Forest Rally Stage with astonishing agility – again at scarcely believable speeds.

This is just the shakedown, too. We can’t wait to see what this car looks like when Nasser and Mathieu move the commitment needle up to 11.
