The 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard begins this week, and one of the biggest star marques of last year has revealed what it’ll be up to on the Hill. Aston Martin is back with its hypercar, its limited-run supercar, its super SUV and more.
Yes, the Valkyrie is returning to the Hill to glaze the Goodwood Estate in the howl of its 6.5-litre V12 engine revving to over 10,000rpm. Last year come rain or shine it was one of the star cars of the Michelin Supercar Run, but this year it’ll have the Mercedes-AMG One F1-engined hypercar, among many other incredible debuts, to contend with for your affections and a place in your lottery win garage.
Speaking of incredible debuts, the new V12 Vantage, one of a 333-car series, will be making an appearance on the Hill. The V12 Vantage is a send-off for a particularly addictive breed of hot-rod Aston. It was always fun when the smallest car got the biggest engine and this is no exception, though with a tinge of sadness given it’s the last of its kind. It will be joined by its junior sibling the Vantage F1 edition as well as a V12 Speedster, a DBS and a DB11.
Aston will also be bringing the DBX707 super SUV for its public dynamic debut, complete with a few distinctive Q custom touches for good measure. What Aston calls the most powerful luxury SUV will be making runs up and down the Hill all weekend. Lastly but certainly not least, the long-awaited AMB001 motorbike will be getting its debut on the Hill this year too.
From a V12 hypercar to a superbike, with a super SUV and a number of super GTs in there for good measure, we’re not sure another marque is bringing such variety to the First Glance and Michelin Supercar Run batches this year. We can’t wait to see these Astons in action.
