Don’t miss this ludicrous 1,000PS Navara-R at FOS

With a monster twin-turbo V8 Nissan GT-R drift car, you’d struggle to imagine how Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagione’s next build could top that for craziness. Well, he’s had a good go, moving from Nissan’s flagship supercar… to one of its utilitarian pickups. Meet the Navara-R, a 1,000PS AWD drift pickup that will be on display at the K&N Filters stand at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.

In development over the last two years, the Navara-R gets its name from the twin-turbo V6 that’s been swapped into it, along with Nissan GT-R subframes and custom suspension turrets with bespoke KW coilovers.

Pushed out to 4.1 litres, but based on the VR38 Nissan GT-R engine, this VR41 produces an astonishing 1,013PS (745kW). In tandem with the extra swept capacity, this motor develops its power using new Garrett G30 660 turbos, upgraded cams, valvetrain, bearings, intakes and exhaust. Putting the power to the ground is an all-wheel-drive system that also comes courtesy of the GT-R.

The craziest thing is, from 2023 you’ll actually be able to order one of these from Baggsy, who says SB Motorsport will be building them for customers from next year. And yes, it’ll be road legal. The only slight catch is it’ll be a toss-up between this and a Ferrari 296 GTB, given a Navara-R will cost buyers from £250,000.
