Buy the cars of your dreams in the 2024 Bonhams|Cars Festival of Speed sale
The Bonhams|Cars sale at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is more of a treasure trove of motoring temptation than ever for 2024, with everything from pre-war racing cars to modern supercars and hypercars, and everything in between up for grabs.
The cars expected to pull the biggest numbers cover that range almost exactly, with a 2014 LaFerrari expected to bring in as much as £3.4 million, followed in the billing by a 1928 Mercedes-Bens Sports Tourer, set to make up to £2.5 million.
Speaking of Mercedes, there’s quite the collection of three pointed star-badged machines available in the sale coming from the Tom Scott Collection, including the aforementioned 36/220 S-Type. These include a pair of 300 SLs, one a Gullwing coupé and one a roadster, which are expected to make up to £1.1 million and £1.2 million respectively.
They’re joined by a range of beautiful Mercedes open-tops including a 1968 SL Roadster, a 1971 280 SE Cabriolet and a 1955 300 SC Cabriolet. Perhaps the coolest, though? The replica 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen which incredibly, is estimated to make just £30,000-£40,000. To relive your Gran Turismo 4 glory days and experience what life was like at the dawn of the motoring age, that sounds like a bargain…
Fancy something a bit more brash? There’s also an incredibly rare – 252 of 300 made – Ford Mustang Cobra R Coupe up for grabs, alongside Lister XJ-S 6.0-litre and a Park Ward Rolls-Royce Silver Spur Limousine. All these, the Mercs above, join historic and modern Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Alfa Romeos and so much more. If you’ve got some cash burning a hole in your chequebook, there’s bound to be something in the Bonhams|Cars Festival of Speed sale that tickles your fancy.
