Audi Hoonitron will debut on the Hill at 2023 Festival of Speed

Yes, the Hoonitron, the one-off all-electric Quattro tribute designed and developed for the late great Ken Block, will be sent up the Hill in his honour with none other than nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen behind the wheel. Incredibly, the Hoonitron has more power than any of the LMP1 titans he raced at Le Mans, with more than 1,400PS going to all four wheels via two electric motors.

Of course, the Festival of Speed will very much be a trip down memory lane for Kristensen, as the R8, R10 TDI and R18 e-tron Quattro LMP1 monsters take to the Hill as part of the Le Mans 100^th Anniversary celebrations.

Of course, Audi isn’t just a past motorsport master. Its latest exploits will be on display too, with the incredibly innovative RS Q e-tron, which took on the Dakar powered by Formula E electric motors and a four-cylinder turbo generator, with a total of 386PS (284kW). Off-road legends of the past will be joining it, including Hannu Mikkola’s Quattro rally cars being driven by his sons Juha and Vesa.

“Audi and Goodwood both have motorsport at their heart, so being able to showcase icons from our past alongside Audi Sport’s latest creations at this year’s Festival of Speed will be a special occasion,” said Audi UK director Andrew Doyle.

“Success at the Dakar Rally is our current focus before we turn our attention to the pinnacle of motorsport and Formula 1 in 2026. Both disciplines will go a significant way to strengthen our motorsport pedigree."
