The Porsche Mission X is coming to the 2023 Festival of Speed

11th July 2023

Porsche is of course the celebrated marque this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard and it’s coming in hot, with its enormous presence lead by the public debut of the stunning Mission X hypercar concept. The hypercar is the vision of an all-electric successor to the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, with nods to classic Porsche prototypes like the 917. The goals are one horsepower per kilogram of weight and indeed, to topple records at the Nürburgring.

You’ll find the Mission X on the Porsche Experience stand near Molecomb corner, alongside a whole host of current Porsche production cars. It’s Porsche’s ‘touchstone’ at the Festival, where there will be driver interviews, product tours and more.

Of course, you’ll be seeing plenty of Porsche road and racing cars in action on the Hill. The new 718 Spyder RS gets its debut, alongside the new 911 GT3 RS. They’ll be joined by a Manthey Racing-fettled Cayman GT4 RS in the Supercar run, while the 911 Dakar and Carrera T will be running in the First Glance batch.

The Mission X is a look into the future of Porsche’s very fastest cars, as we celebrate its 75 years to date and indeed, 60 years of the 911. We’re also celebrating 100 years of Le Mans, the world’s greatest motor race with which Porsche has built a huge amount of its reputation and where it remains the winningest marque.

Look to the Hill and you’ll see plenty of incredible Porsche racing cars, including an impressive cohort of prototypes, Le Mans winners and 911s. There’s a GT3 Cup in the Timed Shootout too, which for those who remember last year’s edition, could prove entertaining to say the least.

There will be Porsches all over the rest of the Festival, from the Lego Town featuring a miniature Porsche Centre, to Porsche Classic, to the ‘Dream Big’ art installation on the cricket pitch, to the 5,000th Carrera Cup race car at the Porsche Cafe Le Mans. Then, of course, there’s the spectacular Central Feature, but we can’t tell you anything about that… yet. T-minus two days.

The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place from 13th-16th July. Be sure to check back here at Goodwood Road & Racing to keep up to date with all of the latest news and announcements.
