2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed timetable

03rd July 2023
Ben Miles

With just a few days to go until the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, we’re extremely happy to reveal the full timetable for all this year’s incredible action.

Updated: Sunday 16th July 2023 at 07:00. Due to the cancellation of the Saturday’s action at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed there has been a slight update to the timetable. With Sebastian Vettel having made his way all the way here to see the Goodwood fans, we couldn’t have let him go home without putting on the balcony moment we planned. So that will now take place along with all the others on Sunday.

Kicking off on Thursday with an expanded programme of track action for the first day, this year’s Festival promises to be one of the biggest and best ever, celebrating both 30 years of the Festival of Speed itself and 75 years of motorsport at Goodwood.

With fewer manufacturer batches this year, Thursday at the Festival is set to be one of the best, filled with motorsport action and all the most important supercar debuts from manufacturers including Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche and more.

Thursday will also see a celebration of the life of Sally Mason-Styrron – the first person ever to drive up the Hill at FOS – and the first Timed Practice for the cars involved in Sunday’s Shootout. You’ll also be able to see the Red Arrows display, as well as the cars from the rally stage and a run showcasing the very best bits from the weekend at FOS.

New for 2023 on Thursday is a spectator Hill walk. At 08:35 the famous Festival of Speed Hill will be open for all spectators to walk in the wheel tracks of Max Chilton and Nick Heidfeld. The action on the Hill then begins at 09:20 and continues throughout the day until 17:30.

Friday kicks off at the earlier time of 08:30, with touring cars, drift and rally cars getting the action well and truly underway. The Red Arrows will display for the second and final time at 11:15 on day two before we celebrate 75 years of Porsche with an incredible moment around the 2023 Central Feature. This celebration will happen on all four days of the Festival of Speed, so don’t miss out on a spectacular moment.

Friday also sees the Bonhams auctions, for automobilia at 11:00 and cars at 14:00. This will also be live streamed on our YouTube channel for all to watch at home. Friday’s action continues until 19:00.

The weekend at Goodwood starts again at 08:30 with our awesome showcase of winners of the Le Mans 24 Hours, as part of the celebrations of the great race’s 100th anniversary. To properly wake you up, our NASCAR class will also take to the Hill straight off, including the incredible Garage 56 racer.

Qualifying for the Shootout begins at 11:45, with all cars vying for a place in Sunday afternoon’s showpiece event, just after we’ve celebrated Porsche once more at 11:40. Lovers of extreme sports will be able to see the Motocross Best Trick contest over at Goodwood Action Sports at 17:30. Hill action on Saturday continues until 18:30.

The final day of the Festival of Speed will begin at 08:30 with our celebration of Goodwood 75 – showcasing some of the most important cars in Goodwood’s three-quarters of a century of motoring.

The shootout will take place at 14:00, slightly earlier than in previous years, so don’t forget to be trackside as the fastest cars of the weekend do battle for one of the most coveted crowns in the motorsport season.

Goodwood Action Sports will see the BMW Best Trick contest at 16:30 before the weekend is rounded off by another display of the amazing supercars and First Glance cars.
