Video: Goodwood celebrates Lotus at FOS

One of the details that makes the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard so special each year are the Goodwood House moments. It’s a chance for everyone at Goodwood to pay homage to some of the world’s greatest marques, drivers and achievements. Often supported by show stopping sculptures erected on the Duke’s front lawn, firework displays and rousing musical performances.

This year of course, we were celebrating that most British of car brands, Lotus, and their own very significant contribution to motorsport and the automotive industry within this country.

Under a near cloudless sky on Friday afternoon, crowds gathered to see the all-new new Emira and the stunning all-electric hypercar Evija park up in front of the House, beneath the completely unique and innovative VR-inspired central feature to say thanks.

Founded 73 years ago by the late great Colin Chapman, Lotus themselves have lots to celebrate and look forward to this weekend. After saying goodbye to the ever-popular Elise following its 25 year production, their ambition for an all-electric future is looking bright indeed for the Norfolk-based company.
