Stunning GRRC Showcase at Classic Sunday

04th August 2024

A big fixture of our Breakfast Club events in recent years has been the GRRC Showcase, which features a selection of wonderful cars owned by the Members and Fellows of the Goodwood Road Racing Club. It’s almost always the cream of the crop in terms of the cars you need to see at Breakfast Club, and this year’s Classic Sunday is no exception. The early morning sun gleams against the glorious panel work of some spectacular machines.

The two Jags are of course stalwarts of racing at Goodwood, with the E-Type an RAC TT favourite and, more appropriate for this one, a Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy favourite. The Mk1 meanwhile is the car that splits the pack in the St Mary’s, being not so large as the enormous Galaxies and other Americana, but being bigger and more sure-footed than the likes of a Mini or a smaller Alfa Romeo.

Speaking of Alfa, the little lady in red next to the E-Type is unmistakable with that trefoil grille. Next to it we have a wonderful little Lotus 11 and an MGB. These of course are dwarfed by the monsters that sit on front of them. Three glorious pre-war Bentleys are exemplary of the marque’s glorious endurance racing era.

Which of these stunning GRRC Showcase machines would you take for a lap of the Motor Circuit, or to race at the Revival next month?
