The Goodwood Motor Circuit Café is a popular destination for bikers in this part of the world at the best of times, with the winding, open, flowing Sussex roads offering plenty of opportunity for two-wheeled aficionados to get properly acquainted with their machines.
It should come as no surprise, then, that the ‘All Wheels but Four Sunday’ Breakfast Club was descended on by swarms of bikers, bringing with them that unique community spirit that they do so well.
We had fully-faired sports bikes, superbikes, naked bikes, classics, bobbers, tourers and even a couple of electric bikes for good measure. Military machines, full customs and even the Mods showed up with their scooters. There really was something for everyone.
Notable highlights included a stunning Ducati 916 – regarded by many as one of the most beautiful bikes ever produced. A BMW R1200 GS which had been ridden around the world. And even a KTM Dakar 450 Rally – a bike which Sam Sunderland took to a historic Dakar race win in 2017.
Everywhere you looked there was tantalising eye-candy for fans of two-wheeled mischief, and one certain BMW Motorrad R nineT Option 719 was this writer’s pick of the bunch. Simple, stripped-back, and beautiful. On the Christmas list.
