28th March 2023

We are delighted to announce professional golfer, Charlie Strickland, as our newest Golf At Goodwood, #TeamGoodwood ambassador.

Charlie has a rich pedigree as an amateur winning the Duncan Putter, The McEvoy Trophy and finishing Runner Up in the demanding Lytham Trophy and The Darwin Salver at Rye.

Charlie established himself as an England regular from the age of 14 and represented Great Britain and Ireland on two occasions in the Jacques Leglise Trophy, an under 18 match play event against continental Europe.

As a 17-year-old Charlie was one of youngest players to be selected for the England Men’s Elite squad but unfortunately a year later was diagnosed with Epilepsy. This jeopardised travel and attending tournaments for some time and caused Charlie to fall a number of times dislocating his shoulder. Over the course of the next four years Charlie worked with his physio team to establish strength in his shoulder to enable a pathway in professional golf.

Supported throughout by Golfing For Life and Trinifold Sports Management, both longstanding partners of Golf At Goodwood and working with his coach ex- European tour player Steve Rolley, Charlie is now looking forward to establishing himself as a tour professional. We are proud to provide a young person with an opportunity, who has already faced such challenges in his early career.

Charlie is no stranger to Goodwood with him being based in West Sussex, he has enjoyed Junior Golf from an early age in and around Golf At Goodwood.

Charlie will work with our junior section passing on his experience and skills to help a younger generation.

We look forward to following Charlie's progress on the Clutch Pro and Challenge tour this season.
