Strap in and feel the roar of the 27-litre Rolls-Royce Merlin as you taxy out for pre-flight checks and take-off. Fly the TR9 Spitfire over the stunning South Coast and English Channel. We operate five 1940s Spitfires, including three two-seat TR9s and two Mk IXs - featuring the iconic Silver Spitfire, G-IRTY. The TR9s, converted from original Mk IXs, are used for passenger flights and training. Each is powered by a legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, delivering pure wartime power.
With only 60–70 airworthy Spitfires remaining out of 22,500 built, flying in one is a rare and unforgettable honour. Each of our aircraft has wartime history, from training to active service. The two-seat Tr9s were originally Mk IXs, faithfully converted using Vickers Supermarine factory blueprints.
Take to the skies in a Spitfire TR9 from Goodwood, flying along the coast with optional formation or aerobatic flights. Take the controls yourself and experience the power, agility, and grace of this legendary aircraft. An unforgettable journey through history.
