The South Downs National Park Authority is building on the success of the previous Generation Green project, with additional funding to deliver more nature connection in 2024-25.  This exciting expansion includes the "Discover the South Downs" initiative, which offers a variety of enriching experiences such as farm visits, residential stays and day trips, all designed to foster a deeper connection with nature for young people.

In an effort to reach students from diverse backgrounds, the initiative extends a special invitation to schools where over 30% of the pupils are eligible for pupil premium funding. These schools can participate in a fully-funded visit to the South Downs National Park. This comprehensive package not only covers the costs of the educational experience but also includes up to £450 to assist with transportation, ensuring that financial constraints are not a barrier to participation.

Our highlight of the program is the collaboration with the Goodwood Education Trust, who will be hosting the farm visits. This is a unique opportunity for schools that have not yet had the chance to explore the Trust and its educational offerings. The farm visits are specifically targeted at students aged 7 to 18, and all visits must be scheduled to take place before the 31 March. This initiative represents a fantastic opportunity for schools to introduce their students to the wonders of the South Downs, offering an immersive experience that blends education with hands-on interaction with nature. Don't miss this chance to bring your students closer to the environment and inspire the next generation of nature stewards!
