Beneath the feet of Kings

09th March 2017

The Yellow Drawing Room at Goodwood House is home to a stunning new carpet. It is an exact copy of the original Axminster carpet with the colours as they would have looked in 1830.  It took nearly a year to weave the carpet in Bulgaria and before it left, the President of Bulgaria came to admire it!

This beautiful reception room at Goodwood House is adorned with rich yellow silk and elegant Regency furnishings, which create an opulent, sumptuous interior. Elaborate French furniture sits alongside full-length royal portraits of King George II and III and the room features floor-to-ceiling windows, which flood the room with natural light.
