Overview

We’ve invited lots of special guests from shows past and present to make up the Visitors Team and CFT's very own Artistic Director, Justin Audibert, will be captaining the CFT crew.

Full line up will be available soon.

This is a free event so we encourage friends and families to come with rugs and chairs for a very jolly afternoon! You’ll find a marquee selling delicious cakes, ice-creams, teas, coffees and soft drinks to keep everyone refreshed but you’re very welcome to bring a picnic too.

There will also be a chance to enter a fabulous competition to win a night at Goodwood Hotel, lunch at Farmer, Butcher, Chef and a pair of tickets to the press night of Redlands.

Cricket is the oldest of the sports played at Goodwood, having been played there since at least 1702, and has been supported by all the Dukes of Richmond. There have been regular cricket teams at Chichester Festival Theatre over the years too; famously, the director Sam Mendes (the colour photograph below) owed his first job at Chichester to his prowess at the game!

Sam Mendes is one of the patrons of CFT’s fundraising appeal for The Nest, a new 120-seat studio theatre created to be a vibrant hub for talent development and innovative and community performances. All funds raised from the cricket match will contribute to The Nest Appeal.

Getting to Goodwood:

The car park opens at 1pm, the match starts at 2.30pm, with tea at 4pm and ends around 6pm.

Marshalls will be in place to help guide traffic.

In case of rain, please check the Chichester Festival Theatre website for arrangements.
