When did you start:

July 2010 – my first weekend was Festival of Speed, followed by
Glorious and then Vintage - it was an interesting first month!

Where did you work before:

I always worked in horse racing, I started at Cheltenham
racecourse the Monday after finishing university, and worked
at various racecourses up and down the country before moving
to Goodwood.

Why you love your job:

It’s all about the place for me. I do believe Goodwood gets into
your soul somehow, and there really is no place quite like it.
This year watching the Goodwood Cup under clear blue skies,
with one of the most passionate and knowledgeable crowds in
racing genuinely appreciating a world class performance from a
superstar horse – there is no better sporting scene anywhere in
the world – I did have a bit of a ‘how lucky am I’ moment!

Cars or horses:

I can genuinely say since I’ve got involved in the motorsport
events, I have found a love I never knew I had, but if you saw
Frankel win the Sussex Stakes in 2011 then I defy anyone to
say anything with four wheels will ever match that!

do believe Goodwood gets into your soul somehow, and there really is no place quite like it.

Adam Waterworth

Family:

Married to Sally – the most patient woman in history – and
have two children. Jack is just recovering from Freshers Week
at Leeds Becket University, and Alice has just started in Upper
6th – many of you will recognise their faces because they have
worked at all the events, and in the House on various occasions!

Hero(s):

I can’t say I have one, but if anyone gets me Oasis tickets
for next year, they will gain immediate hero status!
Kevin Sinfield is someone I am slightly in awe of –
an unbelievable rugby player, but what he has done for
his former teammate Rob Burrow – who recently lost
his fight with MND – is pretty heroic.
