On Saturday 8 April our Goodwood Par 3 Masters Challenge returned to The Downs Course.

Returning for the second time on Saturday 8 April was our Goodwood Par 3 - Masters Challenge. The event pays homage to the Masters, mimicking Wednesday's par 3 event.

We were fortunate enough to see better weather than what was experienced at Augusta, we enjoyed the sunshine while they battled with sudden storms and delayed play.

As last year was our first time running the event, we were able to build on some of the hole designs this year. Last year’s winner Darryll Mendoza managed an impressive 11 under which helped motivate us to find some more challenging positions. Some of the holes included the old third hole played from up by the Gazebo and the 12th hole played from the 15th tee box.

As a shotgun start it was hard to tell mid round who was leading the event, but as all the cards came in we saw how close the top of the table was. We had four players all at the top of the leader board tied on a nett 50 - four under handicap and it was only one of the last few scores entered that took the lead as our outright winner.

As prize giving started, we had our 2022 winner Darryll Mendoza wearing his green jacket ready to present this year’s winner with their own matching attire.

The winner of the day was Graham Marley.

The rest of the results are as follows:

2nd - Amanda Brooks

3rd - Jeremy Mears

4th - Storry Thrower

5th - Tony Taylor

Men's Nearest The Pin - 3rd Hole - Keith Stone

Ladies Nearest The Pin - 18th Hole - Jacqueline Wong

Thank you to everyone who came and supported the day. We are looking forward to running this event again and hope to see you all there.
